Man accused of driving drunk in fire truck, crashing it
STARR (S.C.) — A South Carolina man has been charged with driving a firetruck while drunk and then crashing it, authorities stated. The South Carolina Highway Patrol stated that
John Russell Hendrix Jr. has been charged with driving while under the influence.
He was driving from Starr to pick up a fire truck on Monday night, when he veered off the road and flipped onto the other side, WYFF TV reported. The TV stations broadcast a photo showing the firetruck upside down in dirt and grass.
The reason Hendrix was driving the firetruck was not immediately revealed. Tuesday was not immediately known if Hendrix had a lawyer that could be reached for comment.
Authorities state that a passenger was also present in the truck. There were no injuries.
