Musovski, Arango score to help LAFC beat Austin 2-1
AUSTIN (AP) — Danny Musovski scored just moments after entering the game. Cristian Arango scored on a penalty shot, and Los Angeles FC defeated Austin FC 2-1 on Wednesday night.
Musovski was substituted in the 76thminute. He slipped behind the defense and ran onto a through ball from Jose Cifuentes. This gave LAFC (9-9-6) a 2-1 advantage in the 81st.
Arango converted the spot, his fifth goal in four games, to open the scoring for the 59thminute. Diego Fagundez, who was responsible for Arango’s goal by playing handball in the area, stopped Cecilio Dominguez from rebounding off the post to tie the score in the 67th.
LAFC ended a four-game losing streak on the road.
Austin (5 -15-4) lost four consecutive matches. Each of the club’s last four wins has been followed by at least three consecutive defeats.
