‘Separating children by race’ Bill Maher defends parents against critical race theory

Comedian Bill Maher defended parents voicing their concerns about critical race theory, saying it’s leaving some children “traumatized.”

Mr. Maher , Bill Maher, host of “Real Time With Bill Maher” on HBO ,, made his defense in heated debate with Vanderbilt University Professor Michael Eric Dyson during his Friday show.

” I find that a disingenuous argument, because I don’t think that’s what people are objecting too,” Mr. Maher stated in response to his guest’s argument that CRT opponents object to Black history being taught in schools.

” They are not opposed to Black history being taught. The host said that there were other issues going on in schools.

When Mr. Dyson asked him what he meant, Mr. Maher stated that much of the opposition lies in “separating children by race and “describing them as oppressed .”

” This means that there are children returning home from school who feel traumatized. he stated that this is what parents object to.

Mr. Maher Also, he said that sometimes children are too young to appreciate all of this and touched on Glenn Youngkin’s surprise victory in the GOP Virginia governor’s election.

Mr. Youngkin focused his campaign on education and promised to ban critical-race theory from schools. However, Virginia educators have denied that the theory is being taught in public schools.

Critical Race Theory is an academic thesis that was born in the 1970s. It asserts that U.S. institutions and laws are inherently racist and perpetuate oppression of minorities.

It has been the topic of controversy at school board meetings across the country, including in Loudoun County which is a northern Virginia County where Mr. Youngkin held the last rally.
