Small earthquake shakes southwest Virginia
LAFAYETTE (Va.) — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a small earthquake shook southwestern Virginia Monday morning.
The preliminary magnitude of 2.6 earthquake occurred at 9: 37. It was located approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) north of Lafayette and was 8 miles 4km deep.
News outlets reported people in Salem felt the ground shake, but no immediate reports of any damage.
